How do I create a list of films I've seen and why should I?
We've all seen hundreds of movies, some of us even thousands. How could we ever remember all of them? Having a proper rated list from which we can recommend our favorites to friends and family can come in handy. We find it to be so.
It's time to start rating movies!
Search for movies you've seen using the homepage or site-header search boxes, enter the movie profile from the results page, click the "I watched this film/show" button inside the movie/tv meter box at the top left corner of the content area and rate it 0.5 to 5 stars. A rating of more than four stars will automatically add this film to your favorites and list you as a fan of it, thus helping you meet other people who liked this movie.
Once rated a film or two, you will already be able to find a new box in your personal profile page featuring your favorite actors, movies and tv-shows. Either that box or the direct "My Favorites" links placed in the top menu under "My Profile" or as a button in your "statistics" box will take you to a list of all films you've seen and rated. You could share this list with your friends (so other people can learn of the films you've seen and enjoyed), edit it's content or even create your own customised list using the "Collections" tool.
What are the collections?
To create a separate collection, go to "My Zones" > "My Collection" and start updating your list by clicking the "Add new movies" button. Your collection can be accessed through the search, Collections section, personal profile or simply by providing its unique URL to friends. The site also allows you to print your collection or export it as an excel file. A new box will appear on your personal profile featuring your latest submissions. A premium feature is available for this service allowing you to quickly update your collection with similar information available in other user collections. It could work as a nice shortcut if you can actually find an exact match to the format in your possession. To use this, simply run a search in the Collections section from the Advanced Search page and once found, select the film and click the "add to my movie collection" link.
