Chino Linares and his wife Lisette are poor ghetto Portoricans, whose marriage depends on great sex. When a petty theft lands him in jail, she gets attached to the relative independence that a job as fashion magazine assistant brings. By the time Chino is released, they bicker about upbringing their rebellious son (8), who needs more love and discipline, and soon discover each has been unfaithful. L'il Chino gets involved in drug crime himself, but dad's firm hand now is ready to deal with him and his juvenile street gang mates.

Originally titled "Black Out", but director Darnell Martin was forced to change it by Columbia.
