After being widowed, Sanjay Malhotra has taken up the responsibility of raising his only child, a daughter named Simran. Sanjay is overly concerned and protective of his daughter, and wants to be aware of her every moment, diet, friends, etc. Despite of this, Sanjay has an overly active imagination, which compounds this situation. Years pass by, and Sanjay has not changed, though Simran has grown up and now attends college. When Simran meets with Vivek Mehra, both fall in love. When Sanjay comes to know about this, he is unable to accept that his child has grown up to be a woman ready for marriage, and it is this thinking that creates hilarious hurdles in both their lives.
