Jim runs out of money in New York and returns to the small Indiana town he grew up in. He doesn't enjoy being around his family and doesn't want to help out at the family business. After his brother ends up in a coma, he is forced to help out at the ladder factory his parents run. He meets his Uncle Stacey who is using the plant to disguise his drug dealing. Jim meets a beautiful nurse with a precocious son and starts a unsteady romance. Love and patience eventually help him to find some happiness in life.
Several members of the writer's family appears in the film. His brother plays one of the Drug Enforcement Agents. His father is the neighbor in the trampoline scene. His mother appears briefly in the scene when Jim nearly hits a tree. Finally, Jim's nieces Sarah and Rachel are the writer's actual nieces.
Jim:
I mean, I'm a fuck-up, but you're a goddam tragedy.
Continuity: SPOILER: At the very end, when Jim runs to the car and stops by the drivers window, it is then seen Anika opening the window. The next shot though, when he asks if it's possible to get a ride, is shot through a glass, if you look carefully some light reflecting and dirty marks can be seen.

With more than a million titles, it isn't feasible to handpick recommendations for every film. That's why we came up with a formula to suggest titles that fit along with the selected one. The formula uses factors such as user votes, genre and keywords to generate an automatic response. The system produces relevant results most of the time but since recommended titles are not manually chosen, occasionally they may include less than perfect matches.
