Holly Kennedy is beautiful, smart and married to the love of her life - a passionate, funny, and impetuous Irishman named Gerry. With Gerry's words as her guide, Holly embarks on a journey of rediscovery in a story about marriage, friendship and how a love so strong can turn the finality of death into a new beginning for life.

During the filming of a strip sequence, Gerard Butler's suspenders hit Hilary Swank on the forehead. She received a cut and had to be brought to a hospital where she received several stitches.

Continuity: When Holly and Gerry share their first kiss the space between them drastically changes when the camera faces either him or her.
