American film and television actor best known for his portrayal of Wild Bill Guarnere in the HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers" (2001) and also as Tom Fox in Catch Me If You Can (2002), Frank John Hughes was born November 11, 1967, in The Bronx, New York.Hughes studied Jazz composition at the Berklee College of Music in Boston before making his feature film debut in Robert Celestino 's True Convictions (1991). He has since appeared in films Bad Boys (1995) opposite 'Will Smith'; Lonely in America (1990); The Funeral (1996) opposite Benicio Del Toro and Christopher Walken; Layin' Low (1996); Mr. Vincent (1997), for which he won mass critical acclaim at the Sundance Film Festival for his role as John Vincent; "Urban Jungle" (2004); Robbers (2000); Anacardium (2001), for which he won best actor at the New York Independent Film Festival; and Steven Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can (2002) opposite Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio.He will next be seen in Robert Celestino 's _"Yonkers Joe" (2010)_ opposite 'Chaz Palminteri' and Christine Lahti and in Jon Avnet' 's _Righteous Kill (2009)_ opposite 'Robert DeNiro' and Al Pacino.A veteran of numerous television appearances, Hughes was seen on HBO's "The Sopranos" (1999) as Walden Belfiore, a soldier in Tony Soprano's crew who committed the historic 'last murder' in the landmark series when he killed Lupertazzi Crime Family Capo, Phil Leotardo. Hughes received wide international acclaim for his portrayal of Wild Bill Guarnere in the HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers" (2001) which won both the Golden Globe and Emmy awards for best miniseries. Appearing in the Dick Wolf series "Players" (1997) and "LAX" (2004) on NBC. Other appearances include "Cover Me" (1999), "Law & Order" (1990), "Homicide: Life on the Street" (1993), "Feds" (1997), "Without a Trace" (2002), "Monk" (2002), "Boomtown" (2002), Kings of South Beach (2007) (TV) , "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (2000), The Path to 9/11 (2006) (TV), "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (2001) and many others.In 2007 Hughes joined the cast of the hit series "24" (2001) as Director of Homeland Security Tim Woods.
