Paul Pape Biography
Actor/Producer Paul Pape is the President and CEO of Red Wall Productions. The company first optioned the rights to a single book, Larry Pointer's "In Search of Butch Cassidy" and still owns the rights to that book as well as the film rights to three other books: Jon Chandler's "The Spanish Peaks" (winner of the Western Writers of America Best First Novel Award), "Song of Sorrow" by Patrick Mendoza and "Murder at the Brown Palace" by Denver Post columnist Dick Krek. With two fully realized scripts (written by Paul) and six other projects in various stages of development, Red Wall is actively pursuing American history and/or family entertainment themes as their stories of choice. Along with his partner, producer Lincoln Lageson, the two have committed themselves to developing projects that will appeal to a wide audience.A thirty-seven year veteran of the entertainment business, Paul began his career as an actor in New York. As a member of the successful repertory company, the Collonades Theater Lab, he did his apprenticeship alongside future notables Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman, Jeff Goldblum, Kathleen Noone and Michael O'Keefe. After going Off-Broadway to appear with Kim Hunter in "The Cherry Orchard", he got his break when he was cast to co-star opposite John Travolta in "Saturday Night Fever".In the early 1980s, Paul began doing voice-over work, a field that would bring him considerable success. With over 5000 voice-over credits to-date, his voice has been heard in almost every media imaginable - including commercials, narrations, promos, trailers, television series, feature films, mini-series, movies of the week and video games.A few years ago, Paul returned to on-camera work when he appeared opposite Tom Berenger in "The Detective", a mini-series from Hallmark. In addition, he showed up briefly in "Liberty Street", also from Hallmark. He can be seen co-starring in the short film "Three Rounds", which was an accepted entry into the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival. He also appeared in "The Stranger", a short film that Red Wall Productions co-produced. Video game enthusiasts will see him performing on-camera in "Black", which was a #1 seller in the U.S. and England. He also co-starred in the $45 million dollar game,"Need for Speed: Undercover".Red Wall Productions recently produced "Interrogation", a short film that went on to garner 14 festival nominations and 4 awards; for Editing, Overall Excellence, Out of Frame Best Short Film and Narrative Story. Among the notable festivals it was selected for was the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival. Paul both co-produced and co-wrote the film with his best friend, voice-over legend Don LaFontaine, who passed away two years later. Both men acted in the film and Paul was nominated in the writing and supporting actor categories, as was Don. Pre-production is now underway for another short, "The Testimony of Silas Soule", which will lens in 2012.In addition to his professional pursuits, Paul is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and serves on the Board of Directors of the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. He is married to two-time Emmy Winning Sound Editor, Suzanne Angel-Pape. They are raising a daughter, Isabella, and have homes in Los Angeles and La Quinta, California.
