Todd Allen's earliest memory of films are the flickering black and white images of To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) starring 'Gregory Peck (I)' . He counts Peck, along with Marlon Brando , Steve McQueen and Robert Mitchum among those actors who both influenced and inspired him to be an actor.Allen has appeared in over 50 film and television productions and considers himself fortunate to have had the ability and opportunity to work in both film and television. Allen recently completed a starring role in the independent feature, Frontera (2010), playing a tough, driven Texas Ranger who brings down a powerful drug cartel. Recent television appearances include the NBC/Bruckheimer Pilot, Chase (2010) and a recurring role on Friday Night Lights. Allen also co-starred with Robert Duvall in Duvall's Academy Award-nominated film, The Apostle (1997) and more recently co-starred with Duvall again in AMC's Emmy Award-winning original mini-series, "Broken Trail" (2006) playing the well-reviewed role of Marshal Bill Miller. In American Identity, Allen both produced and co-starred as a battle hardened marine master sergeant, with a sly sense of humor, in the deserts of Afghanistan. Other career highlights include three films with Lawrence Kasdan, three films with Kevin Costner, and playing fighter ace Chuck Yeager in a Hallmark Hall of Fame special presentation. He has many Guest Starring roles on television including appearances on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (2000), "NCIS" (2003), "Monk" (2002), and a movie for Hallmark entitled Claire (2007) (TV).A writer and producer, Allen has several projects in development in both features and television through his company, Presidio PIctures. He also plans to make his feature directorial debut on _Midnight Hour, The, a drama set in the Deep South, in the world of Delta blues and soul music, during the turmoil of the Civil Rights era.Allen maintains residences in both Los Angeles and his hometown of Austin Texas where he keeps close ties with friends and family. He is a devoted Texas Longhorn football fan.
