Sean is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University and the Yale School of Drama, and a native of Buffalo, New York. Sean's first completed script, City High: "Initiation," a television pilot for a dramatic series, co-created with Charles Schultz, was a finalist at the New Harmony Project.Sean guest-stars this fall on Body of Proof, the new ABC series starring Dana Delaney. In July, he played Hjalmar Ekdal in Caitriona McLoughlin's production of Ibsen's The Wild Duck, at Bard College's Summerscape. In May, Sean guest-starred on CBS's hit show, N.C.I.S, and appeared in Christine Henry's production of her own play, Nobody Suspects a Butterfly, in New York. Earlier this year, Sean appeared in the Hartford Stage adaptation of the best-selling novel Snow Falling on Cedars, directed by Jeremy Cohen. In 2010, Sean guest-starred on Blue Bloods, the new Tom Selleck series, on CBS. He also appeared on PBS's "Great Performances" series, as Lt. Commander William Harbison in Lincoln Center Theater's Tony-Award-winning revival of South Pacific, directed by Bartlett Sher. He was also Bruce Willis and Tracey Morgan's boss in Cop Out, directed by Kevin Smith. In 2009, he appeared on the DVD release of Revolutionary Road, directed by Sam Mendes. In 2008, Sean appeared as George Clooney's brother, Gene, in Michael Clayton, the Academy-Award-nominated (Best Picture) film, written and directed by Tony Gilroy. In 2007, Sean won a Portland (OR) Drammy for Best Supporting Actor for his work as Tupolski in the Portland Center Stage production of The Pillowman, directed by Rose Riordan. Also in 2007, Sean appeared on Broadway in Coram Boy, directed by Melly Still. Sean made his Broadway debut in the Tony-Award-winning James Joyce's The Dead, adapted and directed by Richard Nelson. He also appeared Off-Broadway in Mr. Nelson's The General from America (featuring Corin Redgrave), at Theatre for a New Audience. Regionally, Sean's acting credits include: the Alley Theatre, ACT, the Huntington Theatre, the Kennedy Center, Ahmanson Theatre, Pittsburgh Public, Denver Center Theatre, the Old Globe, Seattle Rep, Actors Theatre of Louisville, the Shakespeare Theatre, Studio Arena, the Hippodrome State Theatre, and Yale Rep. Sean's first play, Safe Home, received critical praise and three extensions, earlier this year, in its New York premier. The play had previously received a workshop production at New York's CAP 21, and readings at Stanford University, by the American Conservatory Theatre, and by Primary Stages and Lincoln Center Theater, in New York. Safe Home was first work-shopped at the Rubicon Theatre in Ventura, California, in 2003.
