Ben was born at Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, CA, to Katherine and Jason . He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, commuting to LA for auditions and bookings. Ben was discovered by Cathy Steele and Andrew and Vanessa Steinmeyer at Concord, California's "Kidfest". In 1997, he went with Cathy to Millie Lewis' "American Model and Talent Convention", where he met his first agents, Cindy Osbrink and Scott Wine. He made several commercials before making his acting debut in How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000). He has had several principle roles in TV pilots, including Oliver's good friend "Neal" in "Oliver Beene" (2003). He has also appeared in a number of skits on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
