Mark Wingett Biography
One of the most recognizable faces on British television, Mark Wingett left "The Bill" in 2004 after 21 years and 784 episodes! He was the original "Woodentop" (1983) in the pilot episode of that series. Most recently he has been seen in "Heartbeat" (2005) and as Mike Swann in the BBC serialized drama "EastEnders" (2006). He returned to "The Bill" to guest star in a 3 part special which was broadcast in March 2007. His forthcoming projects include the roles of Batiatus in the BBC's "Spartacus", and Selzman in "Stone's War". He has had many character driven television roles in dramas such as "Fox" (1980), "Private Shultz" (1981). His film appearances include cult classic "Quadrophenia" (1979) and "Breaking Glass" (1980). He is an avid scuba diver (BSAC Advanced Diver), and enjoys boating and fishing.
