Tory Kittles Biography
Known as a versatile actor and writer with handsome looks and effortless charm, Tory Kittles, was born and raised in Lawtey, Florida, a small town nestled just south of Jacksonville. After graduating from Valencia College in Orlando, where he also played on the basketball team, he transferred to the University of Central Florida to continue his studies. Without a scholarship, however, Kittles was forced to get a job to pay his tuition. A lover of movies since his father took him to see "The Empire Strikes Back" as a child, he answered a local newspaper ad searching for actors and was hired as an extra on the comedy show, "Kenan and Kel." It was then that Kittles caught the 'acting bug.' Kittles soon began seriously studying the craft of acting with Rus Blackwell of Circle in the Square. Shortly after, he was introduced to late casting director, Mali Finn, who invited him to read for director Joel Schumacher. Schumacher cast him on the spot for his critically acclaimed film "Tigerland". In addition, Schumacher asked Kittles to write a song that was featured as the film's theme song, "Looking for Charlie." Kittles then relocated to Los Angeles and worked various odd jobs, until the next acting job came along. Once again, Schumacher came through and cast Kittles in Phone Booth, alongside Colin Farrell. Kittles' has since continued to work on the stage, including Broadway, also in television and film. June 2011
