Sonia Curtis Biography
Sonia Curtis began training and working as a professional singer and actress at a young age. Her father, Howard Curtis, was a very successful stuntman and she grew up going to sets regularly until he died tragically in a parachuting accident. She was accepted to UCLA and USC for the BFA after high school, but chose to work at her acting career since she had to be financially independent. Sonia began teaching actors in classes and privately in 1999 and also did years of community service with inner city youths and other community youth groups before returning to her academics. She was accepted to UCLA as a political science major in 2004. Sonia wrote a script, "Love Covers" based largely on her life; a story of redemption and healing, which is being developed as an independent feature with Prison Break producer Garry Brown. In 2006 she and Jillian McWhirter co-created several projects in under the banner of Get Real Produtions which are in various stages of development. Sonia is also co-producing a web series "The Hallway" and is producing a film based on the true story about an Iranian woman who had to overcome horrendous obstacles to survive oppression and the loss of her four children and become an American citizen.
