Jake Fogelnest started a television show from his New York City bedroom when he was fourteen years old. Now he's twenty-five... and he's grown a beard (which he often shaves off depending on the day)."Squirt TV" (1994) made its debut in January of 1994 on Manhattan public access. The show featured Jake spouting off his opinions of music, film and television. Jake wrote, produced, directed and edited the entire series himself. The one-man show quickly became a cult success in Manhattan. Jake's quirky style, sense of humor and edgy commentary attracted an A-list fan base of night owls including, The Beastie Boys, Janeane Garofalo and Eric Bogosian -- just to name a few.In January of 1996 Squirt TV evolved from Public Access to the mass audience of MTV. Still recorded from Jake's bedroom, the show featured more celebrity guests including Adam Sandler, Beck and The Kids In The Hall -- some of whom had appeared on Squirt TV in its original Public Access incarnation.Jake's other television credits include, VH1's _I Love The 90's (2004)_, and the upcoming I Love The 90's Part Deux, his own hour special for Comedy Central, MTV's 12 Angry Viewers, "Upright Citizens Brigade" (1998), and guest appearances on The Jon Stewart Show (1993), Howard Stern and Late Night With Conan O'Brien (1993). Jake had a memorable cameo in the film, Wet Hot American Summer (2001) and can be seen for eleven seconds in _Gigantic (A Tale Of Two John's) (2002)_, the documentary on They Might Be Giants. Jake also hosted his own free form radio program, The Buzz, on 92.3 K-Rock in New York.Jake was on the writing sfaff of VH1 series, "Best Week Ever" (2004). He's written numerous articles for magazines such as Spin, Ray Gun, Bikini,Alternative Press and Jane. Jake regularly contributes jokes to Weekend Update on "Saturday Night Live" (1975) and he's been featured in the Say Something Funny section of America's Finest News Source, The Onion.As a director, Jake has directed music videos alongside 'Spike Jonze'_. He co-directed, 'Jerry Minor'_ Is A Black Man for the Saturday Night Live alum. He served as the Assistant Director for 'Sarah Silverman'_'s one-woman show, Jesus Is Magic at Joe's Pub. He's worked on tour with the Upright Citizens Brigade and continues to develop numerous comedy projects at their downtown New York City theatre. His show Eye Candy, starring 'Dannah Feinglass'_ and 'Danielle Schneider'_ (which Jake co-directed with SNL's 'Amy Poehler'_) was selected for the 2002 HBO US Comedy Arts Festival. Jake's latest UCB production, "George Bush Is A Motherfucker" was produced by 'Adam McKay'_, former head writer of Saturday Night Live and director/co-writer of the hit 'Will Ferrel' comedy, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004).Jake won the 2003 Emerging Comics Of New York Award for Best Director. You can occasionally catch him live on-stage when he feels like doing Talk Show, a favorite live event of Time Out New York. Jake recently returned to 92.3 K-Rock as a sleazy disc jockey and is also developing a new comedy based radio show for the station.At twenty-five years old it appears Jake Fogelnest is well on his way to a fantastic career, resting any fears that he'd end up as "that little weird dude that used to host that show."
