The show is based on an original screenplay by Michael Petroni, that had been purchased by Spyglass Entertainment. When Spyglass decided to turn the screenplay into a television series, they hired Richard Hatem to adapt it into long-form format. Petroni and Hatem share credit as the show￿s creators.

Revealing mistakes: In the pilot "The Ferguson Syndrome" Paul opens a second coffin to confirm his theory on the preservation of the nun's body. As the lid is popped off, dirt falls into the face of the male body, revealing the corpse to move his right eye beneath his closed eyelid as dirt falls across his face.
